The Carey Center for Justice provides our community the access to legal help they need and deserve, champions diversity, and strives to create a community that is inclusive, and wide-reaching. As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we look for ways to keep costs affordable to our clients. We are able to do this through our ongoing commitment to minimize costs and through the support of our board members and generous donors.

Attorney Executive Director
Amanda, our founder and Attorney at the Carey Center for Justice, has a deep passion for helping people and has been doing so for well over 20 years. Amanda started her career in assisting others by working in higher education as a Lecturer at Washington State University, where she taught Public Speaking, Linguistics, and Diversity courses. Ultimately, Amanda became a president of multiple colleges across the states of Illinois and Indiana before deciding to attend law school. Amanda holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Communication from Washington State University, a Doctorate of Higher Education from Northern Illinois University and a Juris Doctorate from Mitchell Hamline University. Amanda strives to create a welcoming environment at the Carey Center of Justice where clients’ needs are at the center of everything we do.
Chief Operations Officer
Adam received his Master’s Degree in History from Western Illinois University. He has served as archivist and records manager for several non-profit organizations. Adam later went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Wisconsin. Adam also holds a Doctorate of Education from Creighton University in Omaha Nebraska.
